First edition bringing together France’s academic community around digital continuum challenges. NumPEx will be represented with presentations on performance, sustainability, and HPC. Exa-MA participants include project coordinators and WP leaders.

MAJSC 2026: ML & Autodiff in JAX

Jun 08-12, 2026 | IRMA, Université de Strasbourg

Workshop on Machine Learning and Automatic Differentiation in JAX for Scientific Computing. Five-day intensive program covering JAX fundamentals, neural networks (Equinox/Flax), automatic differentiation for PDEs (Diffrax), physics-informed neural networks, and neural operators. Organized by E. Franck (WP2 leader), V. Michel-Dansac, V. Vigon, and A. Musik from IRMA Strasbourg.

General Assembly 2026 – Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Aix-en-Provence
Three-day annual meeting with all WP leaders (WP1-WP7) presenting progress and scientific highlights. Featured breakout sessions with Feel++, Scimba, Composyx, and Uranie frameworks, plus presentations on Sage-HPC and Daimos. All 24 presentation slides are now available.

Exa-MA Website Refresh
The Exa-MA project website has been refreshed with updated content and improved navigation. New features include detailed work package pages, a comprehensive software stack catalog with 16+ open-source packages, team directory with photos, 2025 scientific highlights (50× GenEO speedups, 8000 GPU scale on LUMI, neural operator acceleration), and streamlined access to deliverables and publications.

Scientific Advisory Board Meeting – Virtual (Zoom)
Presentation of Exa-MA advances and 2025 highlights to the NumPEx Scientific Advisory Board. Topics included the 50× GenEO speedup, 8000-GPU LUMI deployment, neural operator acceleration (80-200% CPU savings), and CGAL 6.0 urban meshing achievements. Joint session with other NumPEx projects showcasing program-wide progress. Interactive session with board members providing feedback on project direction and scientific impact.

First YoungPEx General Meeting – ENSEEIHT, Toulouse
Three-day workshop bringing together young researchers to discuss the future of HPC and open science. Topics included sustainable computing with Georges Da Costa (Exa-SoFT), Grid'5000 tutorials, energy measurement, and workshops on social and gender equality in science. Organized by Thomas Saigre (Exa-MA), Karmijn Hoogveld (Exa-SofT), and other NumPEx members.

HiDALGO2 Clustering Event – HLRS, Stuttgart
Christophe Prud’homme presented the Ktirio Urban Building pilot for city energy modeling. The pilot, co-funded 50% by NumPEx for EuroHPC, showcased the Ktirio Geom library developed jointly through CoE Hidalgo2 and Exa-MA (WP1 Geometry, Unistra-Inria CA collaboration).
